Welcome

Welcome to the Canadian Public Health internship community web site for students of public health related programs and workplace supervisors of Canadian public health institutions, a service developed and offered by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

This Web site contains information about all public health specific internship programs that are available through Canadian federal government departments and other public health organizations at the provincial, territorial and local/regional levels including the Public Health Agency of Canada. It also contains step-by-step instructions for students, university coordinators and workplace supervisors regarding the internship process. To learn about the internship processes of other organizations outside of the Agency, students are advised to contact the hiring manager at that organization, as noted on the job posting.

Since it’s inception in 2008, the Agency's internship program continues to grow. Meanwhile it develops our public health capacity, ensures a supportive culture and provides the tools and leadership to support a dedicated workforce as outlined in the Strategic Plan of 2007-2012. As participation grows, more students are talking about their exceptional work experiences at the Agency.

University coordinators, students and workplace supervisors all work together to ensure that the public health internship placement processes at the Public Health Agency of Canada are a great success. To learn more about your specific role in the internship placement process, visit the following Web pages:
